Asked at the craft table

The questions grown-ups ask us most, grouped like the drawers of a craft cart.

Safety

Is Play-Doh non-toxic?

Yes, our compound is non-toxic. It isn't food, and it contains wheat.

Is Play-Doh gluten-free?

No. Classic Play-Doh compound is made with wheat, so it isn't suitable for children with a wheat or gluten allergy.

What should I do if my child ate some?

Small amounts aren't expected to be harmful. If a lot was swallowed, there's an allergy, or your child feels unwell, call your doctor or Poison Control at 1-800-222-1222.

Ages

What age is Play-Doh for?

Cans are labelled 2+, most playsets 3+, and some action figure and challenge sets 4+ or 5+.

Is it OK for adults?

Very much. Blooms bouquet kits and air dry clay are popular with grown-ups.

Storage

How do I stop it drying out?

Back in its own can, lid pressed on until it seals, away from heat. Our soft dough guide has more.

Can I mix colors?

Yes — it will marble, and it still plays perfectly.
